Football season is back as the National Football League (NFL) kicks off its latest season on Thrusday, September 10 (US time) with a formidable match up between the Tennessee Titans and the defending Superbowl champions the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers is expected to be a crowd favorite with most of its Superbowl veterans coming back this season. The Titans however had a very good performance in 2008 with a 13-3 record. They went undefeated for the first part of the season and is sure to attempt to duplicate and extend that performance into the post-season this time around.
The other point of interest with the Titans, at least for the Filipino fans, is the presence of #54 - Manila-born Eugene Amano. On his 6th year with the Titans, Amano will reprise his role on the offensive line as starting left guard. He started 16/16 games in 2008 and contributed significantly for an NFL-record low of 12 allowed sacks for the team.
